A batch of tougher anti-hazing bills approved by the legislature are now law in Louisiana.
Governor John Bel Edwards affixed his signature to the four bills Thursday, one of them the "Max Gruver Act" where violators face up to five years in prison if convicted in a hazing that leaves someone with a blood-alcohol level of a least .30 dead.
Gruver (pictured), an LSU freshman from Roswell, Georgia, died last September after a fraternity hazing pushed his blood-alcohol level to six times the legal limit.
