NOLA Residents Asked To Wear Orange On National Gun Violence Awareness Day

Moms Demand Action has teamed up with the New Orleans City Council in asking residents to wear orange today in conjunction with National Gun Violence Awareness Day.

Officials have chosen orange because it's the color hunters wear to warn others not to shoot at them.

Gun violence is a huge problem in the Big Easy with nearly 600 shootings last year, 23 percent of them deadly.

A "wear orange second line" event was held yesterday afternoon ending at Armstrong Park.
