Scalise Back On The Diamond One Year After Shooting

House Majority Whip Steve Scalise is back on the baseball diamond one year after he was shot and severely injured during practice for the Congressional Baseball Game for Charity.

Arizona Republican Senator Jeff Flake tweeted a photo today of Scalise throwing a baseball at a D.C.-area field during practice for next week's game.

Flake wrote, "Steve Scalise back on the field this morning. This does my heart good."  Scalise retweeted the photo saying it feels good to be back with the team.

He was one of four who were wounded when a man with a rifle opened fire on Republican lawmakers at an Alexandria, Virginia baseball field last year.

The annual ball game between Republicans and Democrats will take place on June 14th at the Washington Nationals' ball park.
