United Healthcare has entered an agreement with hopes to purchase Metairie-based Peoples Health.
According to United Healthcare the agreement is pending approval, but they are looking forward to providing citizens of Louisiana with more personalized and affordable healthcare options.
A spokesperson for Peoples Health issued a statement claiming the partnership has been made with the intentions to provide better healthcare, but current members will not have to worry about any changes to their plans or benefits in 2018.
Jobs are not expected to be affected if the agreement goes through.
