Out Of State Drug Ring Linked To New Orleans Airport

Louis Armstrong International Airport is being linked to an out-of-state drug ring bust involving over a dozen people.

The indictment alleges 14 people were involved in a California-based drug ring.

They were smuggling drugs through domestic flights into New Orleans by bribing government and airport employees before funneling the drugs out to the surrounding areas.

Suspects were accused of various roles such as money laundering, smuggling illegal narcotics, bribery and corrupt influencing of government employees.

Court documents state they smuggled drugs into Jefferson Parish from January 2014 to April of this year.
