A North Louisiana man is quite a bit richer thanks to the return of unclaimed property from the state.
Treasurer John Schroder announced Monday the return of $2.3 million in unclaimed oil royalties from a deceased relative of the man who requested his name not be made public.
The state's Unclaimed Property Program has been in operation since 1972 and currently has more than $850 million on the books.
