Prison guards across Louisiana will be receiving a bigger paycheck soon.
According to the NOLA.com/The Times-Picayune, the Louisiana State Civil Service Commission has voted in favor of a pay raise for correctional officers at state prisons that will range between two and ten percent.
The action is a direct response to concerns of low pay in the prison system threatening the safety of inmates and staff.
