NOLA.com/The Times-Picayune reports that Democratic Governor John Bel Edwards will meet Thursday with President Trump in New Jersey to discuss Louisiana's criminal justice overhaul.
Several other governors will also take part in the get-together.
The Pelican State enacted changes last year that helped roll back the incarceration rate by providing mostly nonviolent offenders with expanded opportunities for parole and probation.
