That legal controversy over the booting of two students from a private Catholic school just south of New Orleans is becoming a federal case.
It involves two sixth-grade African-American girls who violated written Christ the King Parish School policy that bans hair extensions.
A temporary injunction was issued by a parish civil district judge allowing the girls to return to their classes in Terrytown pending the outcome of the discrimination lawsuit.
The suit is now scheduled for a September 18th hearing before U.S. District Court Judge Martin Feldman.
