Louisiana Cap On Marijuana Patients Per Doctor Lifted

Patients hoping that they too might be able to obtain medical marijuana for treatment of various ailments are getting some good news.

The Louisiana Board of Medical Examiners voted eight-to-one Monday to eliminate what had been a 100 patients per doctor cap.

The first crop of medical marijuana is expected to be harvested later this year, with distribution through designated pharmacies to follow to those patients with approved disorders.

The board also did away with a requirement for patients to follow up with their doctor 90 days after receiving medical marijuana.
