The Jefferson Parish Coroner's Office is working to identify a body pulled from the 17th Street Canal.
An autopsy is being performed in order to determine the official cause of death.
The man's badly decomposed body was found face down in the shallow water around ten Monday morning near the pumping station on Orpheum Avenue.
