It's a global problem, and a dozen agencies are teaming up in St. Tammany Parish to address domestic violence on the home front.
District Attorney Warren Montgomery says an agreement is in place that outlines how each local and state agency involved will respond to domestic violence cases in the parish.
Those making up the St. Tammany Domestic Violence Coordinated Community Response Team include local law enforcement, the Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services and the Safe Harbor Domestic Violence Program.
Almost half of the 17 homicides recorded in St. Tammany last year were related to domestic-violence.
