A Slidell man is dead after his car slammed into the rear of a 2015 Freightliner truck in St. John the Baptist Parish.
State police say the crash happened around 4:15 p.m. Thursday while the truck was stopped on the interstate due to traffic congestion. Troopers say 23-year-old Justin Weaver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, died at the scene.
A passenger in his car and the trucker were injured in the crash.
