Investigators now believe the Metairie woman found in a sugarcane field in Raceland last month may have committed suicide.
Medical examiners initially said they couldn't determine exactly how and when Mia West died after her body was found near her abandoned car along LA 307.
But investigators said yesterday they looked at her text messages and other communications with friends and family and believe her death was likely a suicide.
