The U.S. Department of Education is investigating Tulane's Newcomb College Institute programs over claims it discriminates against men.
Newcomb College Institute was founded as the first degree-granting coordinate college for women in the U.S. and is dedicated to women's leadership.
A spokesperson for the University said the programs being investigated are those such as study abroad programs and grant funding for students to conduct research on women's issues.
The federal complaint was filed over an allegation the gender programs violate Title IX.
