Interstate 12's widening project in St. Tammany Parish is getting a huge boost thanks to a $25 million federal grant.
U.S. Sen. Bill Cassidy says the funds are coming from the U.S. Transportation Department's "BUILD" program.
Plans for the project include adding lanes to I-12 from just west of Louisiana 21 to Louisiana 59, a dangerous stretch of the interstate near where a fiery multi-vehicle crash in May left four people dead.
