Officials say a 21-year-old Mandeville man is dead after a single vehicle crash in I-12 Wednesday night.
Louisiana State Police say the crash happened at 6:20 p.m. when Joseph Cherry's pickup truck veered onto the shoulder and traveled down the grass embankment. The truck partially overturned and hit a tree.
Cherry was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, but his injuries were still severe and he died after being transported to the hospital.
Troopers don't believe impairment was a factor, and the investigation into the cause of the crash continues.
