State police say a Hammond woman is dead after a car slammed into the disabled vehicle she was standing near on I-55 South in St. John the Baptist Parish.
Troopers identified the victim as 41-year-old Eliska Trosclair.
The Ford Crown Victoria she had been a passenger in had hit a concrete barrier wall early Sunday night, leaving it disabled in the left lane of the interstate.
Oniel Trosclair, who had been driving the car, was arrested for DUI and other violations.
