There's new information about why the son of the New Orleans police superintendent was arrested for domestic abuse battery.
21-year-old Shane Ferguson surrendered to police after an investigation determined he slugged his ex-girlfriend in the face on the same day his father was sworn in as the Big Easy's top cop.
The punch was allegedly delivered after Ferguson and the woman argued, he first spitting in her face and then she spitting in his, followed by him punching her in the chin.
Ferguson ran off after a friend of the woman sprayed him with mace.
