Man Accused Of Five Louisiana Murders Awaiting Extradition

Authorities both in Ascension and Livingston parishes are awaiting the extradition of the 21-year-old Louisiana man charged in the weekend murders of five people.

Dakota Theriot, of Gonzales, was captured early Sunday morning in Richmond County, Virginia after he entered the driveway of his grandmother's home.

It was about 24 hours earlier that he allegedly killed his girlfriend, her brother and their father in Livingston Parish before driving off and later killing his parents in their Ascension Parish home.

Theriot is facing five counts of first-degree murder, with detectives still working to learn why he did what he did.
