Injured Jefferson Parish firefighter Dan Ziegler is making improvements on his road to recovery after falling through a roof at a Metairie fire last week.
Ziegler is now breathing on his own and is able to communicate with family and friends through written notes. Yesterday, he was even able to take a short walk.
Jefferson Parish President Michael Yenni said his improvements are a sign of Ziegler's fighting spirits.
