Ex-Northshore District Attorney To Begin Prison Stretch By April 1st

The former district attorney for St. Tammany and Washington parishes is being ordered to report to prison on or before April Fool's Day.

Walter Reed appeared before U.S. District Court Judge Eldon Fallon in New Orleans yesterday. He was convicted two years ago on 18 federal corruption counts including mail and wire fraud and money laundering.

Judge Fallon told him he could no longer remain free as he appeals the convictions and must begin serving his four-year sentence no later than April 1st.
