Executions Remain Stalled In Louisiana

It appears that those on death row in Louisiana will remain there without fear of execution for the foreseeable future.

Hours of testimony were heard yesterday by members of the House Criminal Justice Committee, and in the end, the needle didn't move one iota toward resolving the state's stalled execution process.

The families of convicted killers told the panel they want the executions to resume, but nothing happened yesterday to lead anyone to believe that will happen anytime soon.

The state last executed someone in 2011 and lethal injections have been halted since then by order of a federal judge and the decision of pharmaceutical companies not to sell the state one of the three drugs mandated in the state's drug protocol for executions.
