A man said to be in his 20s is dead after an early Thursday night shooting in Metairie.
The gunfire occurred around 7 p.m. near the intersection of South Howard Avenue and Warsaw Street. Jefferson Parish Sheriff Joe Lopinto says the victim, thought to be visiting friends in the neighborhood, died at the hospital after being shot in the chest twice.
No motive or suspect information was immediately available.
