Audit Finds LSU Improperly Paid Employee Over $400K

An audit shows LSU wrongly paid an employee over $400,000 in salary and benefits over a three year period.

The faculty member knowingly accepted the salary and benefits for what auditors claim was 38 months, despite never performing work for the university during that time.

According to the auditors, the School of Veterinary Medicine did not do enough to address the faculty member's lack of performance, and Fang-Ting Liang admitted that he did not deserve to be paid. LSU says it's "initiated disciplinary action", and highlights the policy allowing the termination of faculty members "with cause".
