Jefferson Parish firefighter Dan Ziegler is continuing to make strides in his recovery after being severely wounded on the job on February 2nd.
According to Fire Chief Dave Tibbetts, Ziegler went home over the weekend. They say although he still has rehab sessions every week, no more surgeries are scheduled.
Ziegler was injured while fighting a fire at a Metairie apartment complex when the roof caved in underneath him, dropping him several feet into the inferno. He was taken to University Medical Center in serious condition.
