Legislative efforts at getting insurance companies to rollback policy rates for vehicles licensed in Louisiana are gaining traction.
Those rates are said to be the second highest in the nation.
A bill that cleared the full House early last night includes provisions that would mandate insurance companies reduce premiums if their costs go down.
Its author, Representative Kirk Talbot, says his bill lowers the jury trial threshold from $50,000 to $5,000 and gives crash victims up to two years to file suit.
