Juvenile Summer Curfew Now In Effect For New Orleans

(New Orleans, LA) -- New Orleans police say they are now actively enforcing the city's juvenile curfew law after it officially went into effect last night. Officials say they are taking a new approach to the curfew which has not been strictly enforced in recent years. The curfew runs from the beginning of June to the last day of August and forbids juveniles under the age of 17 to be on the streets after 9 p.m. on weekdays or after 11 p.m. on weekends. Children found out past curfew can be arrested if suspected of committing a crime, and the parents of those who break curfew three times could face a fine.
