The man arrested over the weekend for carrying a firearm too close to the New Orleans Pride Parade in the French Quarter is pleading not guilty.
A New Orleans judge yesterday entered the not guilty plea on Cody Jackson's behalf, ordered him to get a lawyer, and then return to court at a later date.
Officials said Jackson was taken into custody on Saturday and charged with a misdemeanor for carrying an AR-15 rifle and a handgun within 1,000 feet of a parade route.
Witnesses say Jackson had also brandished the weapons earlier in the day at the World Naked Bike Ride but in both instances made no threats.
