The state Health Department will begin issuing permits to CBD and Hemp manufacturers.
That announcement follows the passing of House Bill 491, which legalized the sale of hemp-derived CBD with THC concentration less than .03%.
The department will also register labels for wholesale of the products as required by the U.S. Department of Agriculture while forming product rules.
It is still illegal to put hemp and CBD in food or drinks in the state of Louisiana.
