Governor John Bel Edwards is requesting a federal fisheries disaster declaration for the State of Louisiana.
His request comes following the impacts of the spring flooding on the local fishing industries, with declining rates of oysters, fish, crab and shrimp.
Experts blame floodwaters from the Bonnet Carre Spillway.
