Officials with Shell Oil say two of their workers were killed and another injured yesterday.
The three men were conducting a routine test on an oil rig in the Gulf of Mexico.
The incident occurred while the three employees were running a mandatory test on the rig's lifeboat launch.
Company authorities said there was no environmental impact at the rig which has been moored in place at its location since 1994.
