Opening Arguments Heard in New Orleans Trump Mural Case

A civil case between a property owner and the city of New Orleans over a mural is now before a judge.

Opening arguments were held in a U.S. District Court yesterday between the city and Neal Morris about a mural depicting controversial statements by President Trump.

Morris gave permission in 2017 to an artist to paint the mural, which features a quote by President Trump saying derogatory things about women's genitalia.

The city contends the artwork is in violation of permit rules which do not allow murals in residential areas, while Morris says the city is violating his rights defined by the first and 14th amendments.
