The man behind a killing at the Mother's Day parade last year is sentenced to 35 years in prison.
The District Attorney's office said 22-year-old Donnell Brown, III killed 35-year-old Herbert Foster, III and wounded a 15-year-old girl at the second-line in the St. Bernard area of Gentilly.
Foster was said to have been involved with Brown's ex-girlfriend.
He pled guilty to manslaughter and other charges in order to avoid a life sentence, with the approval of Foster's family.
