New Orleans To Appeal Judge's Decision On Proposed Power Plant

The city is working to appeal a state judge's ruling voiding an Entergy power plant in New Orleans East.

Officials said yesterday they had begun the process of hiring outside counsel to challenge Judge Piper Griffin's decision.

Griffin issued an order earlier in July that overruled city council's vote to approve construction of the power station.

Griffin based his decision on evidence showing Entergy violated the state's opening meeting law before the vote.
