The Little Gem Saloon is closed after six years in the city.
The jazz club and restaurant, on the block of South Rampart Street, shuttered its doors on Saturday.
The saloon was one of the first music spots to open the on the mostly-vacant lot after its hey-day during the early New Orleans jazz era.
The building was sold to The GBX Group, a real estate firm that specializes in historic preservation.
The owner, Nick Bazan, said although he will "miss the magic," it is the right time to sell.
