Off-Duty Baton Rouge Fire Captain Accidentally Drowns In Terrebonne Parish

Officials say an off duty member of the Baton Rouge fire department accidentally drowned over the weekend.

According to reports, Captain Bryan Bozeman drowned at a popular boat launch and RV camp along the Robinson Canal in Cocodrie.

Witnesses say the 45-year-old Bozeman was cleaning fish when he slipped into the water and later died at the hospital.

East Baton Rouge Parish Mayor-President Sharon Weston Broome issued a statement on Sunday saying flags would be lowered to half-staff in honor of Bozeman.
