Humane Officials Looking For Owner Of Dog Left Abandoned Outside Winn-Dixie

Officials at the Metairie Humane Shelter say they are looking for the owner of a dog found inside a taped box outside a Winn Dixie.

Shelter workers said yesterday that the dog had been brought to them on Wednesday by a woman who found it inside the box wearing a shock collar and covered in pine needles.

The dog appears to be a two-year-old Pomeranian, and a call has been put out to locate the owner, but shelter volunteers are not optimistic they will come forward.
