Officials at Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport say they are working on reuniting many passengers with their baggage.
Several travelers were forced to leave yesterday without their bags and were told to move essential items to their carry-ons.
December 26th is one of the busiest travel days of the year, and it appears the baggage system at MSY was completely overwhelmed by the amount of luggage coming across at one time.
The airport released a statement saying it is working with the contractor who built the baggage handling system to correct the issue.
