Tulane To Begin Research For Coronavirus Vaccine

Researchers at Tulane's National Primate Research Center are hoping to find a vaccine for the deadly coronavirus.

Officials announced yesterday that Dr. Jay Rappaport will lead a team of 10 researchers that will soon receive live samples of the virus in order to begin their search for a vaccine.

According to reports, the researchers will infect nonhuman primate species and develop an animal model of the disease with the help of a small team of veterinarians.

They hope to develop a vaccine within six months of receiving the grant to fund the experimentation.
