Two Conventions Cancel Events In New Orleans Over Coronavirus Fears

New Orleans officials are working to lessen the economic impact to the city in the wake of two convention cancellations.

On Thursday, the city confirmed that the American Society of Plastic Surgeons had canceled their convention in New Orleans over fears about the COVID-19 coronavirus.

This is now the third convention to cancel an event in the Big Easy this week.

Several other events say they have not canceled but are monitoring the situation, including Jazz Fest, the Buku Arts and Music Festival, the Crescent City Classic, French Quarter Fest, and Hogs for a Cause.

Festivals To Continue In Midst Of Coronavirus

Officials say Jazz Fest, Buku, and French Quarter Fest are going to continue as scheduled despite the spread of the disease but will actively monitor the situation in the case of any changes.
