The Louisiana Workforce Commission is modifying unemployment to assist workers impacted by the COVID-19 outbreak
Workers affected by the pandemic may now be eligible for unemployment insurance.
This includes people who had their hours cut from their job, those who aren't being paid despite their job closing, and those who aren't being compensated when their job told them to not go to work.
Each case is reviewed separately by the workforce commission and the one-week waiting period is being waived.
