An employee working at the Morial Convention Center is in custody after being found stealing boxes of N95 masks meant for health care workers.
The Louisiana State Police confirmed yesterday they had arrested Vernon Giscombe during a traffic stop where two boxes of masks were discovered in his car.
Giscombe worked at the center as the Assistant Director of Public Safety for over eight years and admitted to taking the boxes of masks found in his vehicle, along with two more he stole earlier that day.
Giscombe is now facing charges of theft and malfeasance in office.
