The Convention Center is opening its doors for recovering coronavirus patients.
Governor John Bel Edwards announced Monday that about two dozen patients were transported to the center yesterday and that there are now 1,000 beds available.
The Convention Center is not a walk-in clinic but rather being used to open up space at those hospitals for the most critical.
While there are only a limited amount of beds available, state leaders say there should be about 2,000 beds available by the end of the month.
