Local grocery shoppers are thanking entertainer Tyler Perry for his generosity at over two dozen Louisiana Winn-Dixie stores.
On Wednesday, Perry picked up the tab during Winn-Dixie's special hour dedicated to the elderly and other high-risk shoppers at all 29 stores in the state.
Customers discovered the gift when they got to the check-out line and received a note that Perry had paid for their items.
Perry, a New Orleans native, is an actor, director, and producer known for his multi-million-dollar series of films starring a character named Madea he based on his mother and aunt.
