Officials say they are not sure what became of a bust of New Orleans slave owner John McDonogh after it was pulled out of the Mississippi.
On Monday, Mayor LaToya Cantrell was asked what became of the statue but could not say for sure, only that a group of men reportedly pulled it out of the river on Sunday.
The monument was tossed into the river by protesters on June 13th, and New video footage shows a group of white men dragging it out of the water and loading it onto a pickup truck.
McDonogh was a real estate magnate who advocated for the resettlement of American slaves in the African country of Liberia.
