A NOPD watchdog organization is releasing details in connection to the removal of an NOPD captain from his post.
The group said yesterday that Captain Octavio Baldassaro is accused of having an inappropriate relationship and committing payroll fraud.
Baldassaro was reassigned last March from his position leading the 8th District following complaints about his actions, which included a relationship with a subordinate who appeared to receive preferential treatment on their timecard.
Baldassaro remains under investigation by the New Orleans Independent Police Monitor and could still face dismissal from the force.
