The New Orleans Sewerage and Water Board is releasing a report into what caused Turbine Number Four to fail in a recent intense storm as rains associated with Tropical Storm Cristobal moved through the city.
Details of the report released yesterday found no evidence of human error and instead pointed to a safety control feature failing to prevent the turbine from overheating.
The report was generated through a review of SW&B logbooks and after-action briefings with operation team members.
Executive Director Ghassan Korban says they are taking steps to be more aggressive in their preparations for future heavy rain events.
