An attorney representing a former Catholic deacon accused of child rape is confirming his client passed away on Monday.
Attorney Martin Regan said yesterday that 85-year-old George Brignac died at Touro Infirmary less than 24-hours after being admitted.
Brignac was indicted last December for sexually abusing an altar boy at Our Lady of the Rosary in the 1980s.
Brignac was to have next appeared in court on July 9th, and the cause of his death is under investigation.
