Kenner Mayor Ben Zahn has issued a proclamation making it mandatory that masks be worn inside all commercial and public buildings.
The proclamation went into effect at noon yesterday.
The emergency proclamation applies to all residents in the area except for children under the age of two, residents who are hearing impaired and anyone with a medical condition, mental health condition or disability that limits their ability to wear a mask.
